Rauschpfeife made of rosewood in G major / A minor with keys
Hardly an instrument sounds so typical of a medieval market as the rauschpfeife. Thanks to its enormous loudness, the sound of this instrument reaches to the furthest corners of the market. The fingering is like a German recorder. The lowest note is G. So when you begin on the A, you can play in A minor. Two keys and the double hole G expand the musical possibilities of the chanter considerably. The standard scale g' - a' - b' - c'' - d'' - e'' - f#'' - g'' - a'' is now joined by four additional notes, namely g#', b flat', f'' and b''.
This rauschpfeife is made of rosewood and the overall length is 54 cm. The diameter of the funnel at the open end measures 9.5 cm. The weight is 300 g.
In the video, not only the market bag is presented, but also its chanter, which can be converted into a rauschpfeife in just a few steps.
