Rauschpfeife made of rosewood in G major / A minor
Hardly an instrument sounds so typical of a medieval market as the rauschpfeife. Thanks to its enormous loudness, the sound of this instrument reaches to the furthest corners of the market. The fingering of this infernal whistle is like a German recorder. The lowest note is G. So when you begin on the A, you can play in A minor.
This rauschpfeife is made of rosewood and the overall length is 52.5 cm. The diameter of the funnel at the open end measures 9.5 cm.
In the second part of the video Alea from Saltatio Mortis joins into the session, playing our Rauschpfeife!
