Baroque ukulele baritone - Ukulele-lute
Based on an old original instrument from Germany this beautiful ukulele is a baritone ukulele with the body of a lute. The tuning is the same as the four highest strings on a guitar, namely d-g-h-e' (D3-G3-B3-E4). The eleven-piece round body is assembled from strips of rosewood. The solid spruce top is fitted with a rosette based on a design by Magno Stegher from 1607.
The neck and head are made of solid sycamore, the fingerboard and headstock are made of walnut. Modern machine heads ensure "good tuning". The scale length is 18.9 inches (48 cm), as is usual for baritone ukuleles. Upper nut and bridge inlay are made of bone and the instrument comes standard with a turned strap button at the lower end of the body.
