Walt Sweet ONYX Low Whistle D - Polymer
Quality stays in the family. Ralph Sweet's son, Walt has his own business and now brings out his own whistles and fifes. After quite a few years of making high-end instruments in his father's workshop, Walt now presents some instruments of his own design. Among other things, the ONYX polymer Low D Whistle.
The instrument is characterized by an incredibly low air consumption. The third and sixth finger hole is offset slightly to the side allowing a more comfortable grip.
The sound is incredibly present, so this low whistle sounds almost like an Irish flute. The needed blowing pressure is very low. Initially you jump easily, even accidentally into the upper octave. With a little practice, this low whistle allows hours of playing without getting out of breath.
Although the flute is not particularly heavy, there is a removable thumb rest, which also facilitates comfortable playing. The curved wind tunnel in the block ensures that no moisture can accumulate in the flute and thus impede air flow.
