Geier lyre (Vulture Lyre)
The Geierleier is a fascinating, newly developed instrument. Even without any previous knowledge anybody can play melodies immediatly because of it's open tuning. The very special wavy sound is supported by the use of octaved bass strings. At the same time it is also ideal for all interested professional musicians.
For example Ingo Hampf from the band „Subway to Sally“ plays the Geierleier on their latest album. On the live DVD „Nackt“ the instrument can be seen in action!! The strings can be tuned to DAda or in EBeb. Musicians with bouzouki or mandolin background can also string the instrument to GDAE.
