Bassukucittern - based on our guitar cittern
Over the years we have been asked again and again why we do not design other instruments like we designed our guitar citterns: Bouzoukis, Mandocelli, Citterns, Blarges .... a good idea, we thought. Somehow historical, but somehow also modern.
And then we were asked if we could string such an instrument like a baritone ukulele, only one octave lower. We can. And how! Tuned in D (D2) - G (G2) - B (B2) - E (E3), in contrast to the baritone ukulele double chorded and strung with steel strings. It's also like the upper four strings of a 12-string guitar, only one octave lower. The instrument has a Fishman Presys+ pickup with built-in tuner
