Wood whistle made from Plum wood in D (reddish-brown)
This wood whistle by Alexander Horsch is made of reddish plum wood. It has a beautiful warm tone and responds very easily so it is well suited for beginners. Both the material and the beautiful design make the flute interesting not only for whistlers from the folk sector, but also for flutists from the medieval scene.
The flute can be played just like a normal tin whistle, but also has an extra thumb hole which, along with overblowing, helps with producing the high D. If you do not wish to use the thumb hole, just leave your thumb in place and use only the 6 tone holes on top.
