Saltarelle diatonic Accordion - "Calirrhoé"
Accordions are inextricably linked to French music. One imagines chansons and waltzes à la musette, but also Cajun and Zydeco. From the "Vienna Model" French accordion makers developed since 1831 their own diatonic instruments which then influenced Ireland and the English-speaking world.
In this tradition, Saltarelle has launched the Anglo-Irish "Sterling Range". As usual in Irish music, the instruments are tuned in G/D. Other tunings can be ordered at an additional cost.
The "Callirhoé" is equipped with hand-made reeds: "Anches à la main" - quality for optimum sound and playing experience! Like all instruments of the "Sterling Range", the fingerboard is flat in the Irish manner to fit the playing style of the Celtic Folk.
