The Gothic harp is an instrument that owes its name to its design. The design of the harp's frame is reminiscent of Gothic architecture, with its high slender arches. These harps, which were widespread throughout Europe during the Renaissance, are easy to carry around and play standing up, as the overall design is very delicate and light.
Those who are attracted to solo playing are advised to use this instrument. In classical construction, the strings are anchored in the soundboard with small wooden pegs. The bow is made of solid walnut, back and sides are also solid wood. The soundboard is veneered, which gives it good stability.
Many Gothic harps offered on the Internet are completely strung with plain nylon strings. To improve the sound quality of the instrument, we have replaced the 7 lowest strings with wound strings. We have these produced by the renowned German string manufacturer Lenzner.
